Each week,
TurkeyTraxx.com will
bring a new turkey tip from World Turkey Calling
Champion Chris Parrish. Chris is a member of The
Hunter's Journal Elite Team and a member of the Knight &
Hale Pro Staff.
Week 1
Roosted is Not Always Roasted
Weather conditions may not always be great, so roost
the turkeys the night before. Roosted is not
roasted but it gives you a good starting place. I
usually know exactly where the turkeys are roosted in
the trees and am able to get set up close, usually
within 50-60 yards of the turkeys. When you're
that close, there is no need to do a lot of calling.
Do just enough to let the turkeys know that you are
there. Remember, Roosted May Not be Roasted,
but it's very close!
